CORNERSTONE LEARNING CENTER
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (PRE-SCHOOL)
Since 2002 ACF places significant emphasis on early childhood education, understanding the critical role it plays in a child’s development. Children from single parent and low-income families, or who are cared for by grandparents, migrant families and families with drug and alcohol issues, benefit from the free care and education provided at the Cornerstone Learning Center.
Through a play-based preschool program children aged 4-6 are provided with a strong foundation for future learning, in a safe educational environment while provided with access to many new learning experiences.
Apart from the essential educational needs that are met, the children are provided with basic medical care, food, transport to and from the center and lots of love.
ACF started an Early Childhood Education Fund in 2019 to assist with the educational expenses for children attending Cornerstone Learning Center.
ACF’S PLAY-BASED APPROACH
The play-based approach applied, results in children who look forward to coming to school and enjoy what they are learning which in turn stimulates a love for learning.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see the children become more confident in their own abilities when they get to try, and then master new skills.”
Roelien Muller, Director of Asia Center Foundation
