Fundraising and Charity Golf Event

Phuket Int. Rugby Tens and
ACF Scholarship Program

ACF has been connected to the annual Phuket International Rugby Tens event since 2004 and since then, the event has been instrumental in connecting expat rugby teams to the scholarship program. Teams as far as Dubai, the UK, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia are still raising funds every year to support children on the program.

In 2008, Pat Cotter and Roelien Muller won the International Rugby Board’s ‘Spirit of Rugby’ award in London for their efforts in assisting tsunami-affected children with scholarships and using a rugby development program to improve the circumstances of children. The award recognizes efforts that use the power of sport to act as a catalyst for peace and societal development.

The event has changed to The Phuket International Rugby Elevens in 2023 and takes place annually during the week-end of the 9th -11th of June.

Bangers on Bikes
Annual Fundraising Bike Ride

Bob Pearson, long-time friend and ACF Ambassador connected more than 10 years ago through our Youth Rugby Development Program. Bob rallied his mates to start an annual bike ride to help raise funds for the scholarship program. For 10 years Bob, and his fellow ‘Bangers on Bikes’, have cycled thousands of kilometres through Thailand and neighbouring countries, every year, raising funds.

Their fundraising efforts contributed not only to scholarships enabling children to continue their studies, but also contributed towards the school building project that ACF is undertaking since 2017.

Bob remains involved today by inspiring his networks to continue to raise funds for dry food supplies and donations towards ACF’s projects.
